Event Space NYC Venue Guide

It’s not easy being an event planner in the Big Apple, given the mind-boggling amount of event space NYC offers. There are hundreds of choices for everything from weddings and bar mitzvahs to corporate functions and meetings, product launches and fashion shows. It’s not just about choosing a specific venue, but also the general location that might be most suitable.

For example, hotel rooftop bars and lounges in the Meatpacking District and SoHo are the hot thing right now for trendy events. This can be a birthday bash, private party or a product launch. Some of these rooftop bars with 360-degree views of the city even have heated outdoor pools.

When food and alcohol is served pool-side, events held in these skyscraper rooftops inevitably turn into a raucous party. That’s part of the reason why they’re so popular. The same reasoning (without a pool) also applies to street level clubs, lofts and restaurants in all the five boroughs. They can be rented out for holiday parties, reunions, bar mitzvahs and birthdays.

The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in the West Side is the main choice for trade shows and conventions. Massive hotels in close proximity offer accommodations, meeting rooms and conference facilities. For smaller events like award functions and speeches, there are historic venues like Avery Fisher Hall in the Lincoln Center.

A wedding in New York can be a magnificent spectacle, but it has to be in the right location. The traditional grand wedding options include Gotham Hall and the Plaza ballroom. To make it a touch more unique, consider getting hitched in the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden or the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park.

Remember that any good event space NYC offers will never be available at the last minute. All of the spots mentioned above have to be booked months in advance. It’s best to start planning 6 to 12 months ahead, and get in touch with a professional planner to manage all the logistics and come up with a suitable list of venues. Event Space NYC
